Access and inclusion

My access and inclusion courses build the knowledge and confidence to create genuinely equitable services, workplaces and boards. Grounded in the Equality Act 2010 and delivered through an intersectional, lived experience lens, sessions range from EDI foundations and disability inclusion to inclusive recruitment, management and governance, as well as practical training on embedding intersectional approaches and leading inclusive change management. Each course moves beyond compliance, giving participants practical tools to challenge bias and build lasting cultures of belonging.
Testimonial:
‘I worked with Chris in the Learning Inclusion and Organisation Development Team. Chris developed some amazing sessions on intersectionality and other EDI topics. I worked alongside her and learnt so much from her.
She has a really unique and gentle delivery style which is just perfect for her EDI field. I would highly recommend Chris for training. She captures and engages audiences and has a wealth of knowledge to share.’– Tracey Gibson, Organisational Development Business Partner, Brighton & Hove City Council

2 x 3 hours
My most comprehensive EDI course, delivered across two half days. You get the same foundational grounding as the shorter session below, plus far more space for nuance, discussion and activities, working through real scenarios rather than just covering content. Best for organisations ready to move from awareness to genuinely embedded practice.

3 hours
A focused, single half-day grounding in EDI essentials: the Equality Act 2010, the difference between equality and equity, and how to apply an intersectional lens. Ideal as a first step, or where time is limited and you need the core knowledge delivered clearly and practically.

3 hours
How accessible is your organisation, really? This half day builds a mindset of disability inclusion by design, covering legal requirements, models of disability and everyday ableist bias. You’ll leave with practical tools to make your services genuinely more accessible.

3 hours
Practical tools for supporting autistic and ADHD colleagues, grounded in the Equality Act 2010 and lived experience as a caregiver. Covers communication, sensory barriers and executive functioning, so managers and teams leave with concrete strategies, not just awareness.

Recruit and retain diverse talent with confidence. Co-facilitated with Sabah Holmes this session tackles bias in job descriptions, sourcing and interviews, and gives you fairer, standardised processes you can put into practice straight away.

Where does free speech end and hate speech begin? Using a simple framework (Address, Anchor, Act), this workshop equips staff to challenge discriminatory language with confidence while protecting legitimate debate, grounded firmly in the Equality Act 2010.

3 hours
Build the psychological safety that lets every team member contribute and belong. Delivered along with Sabah Holmes, this session covers inclusive leadership, compassionate communication and practical tools for managing paid staff and volunteers alike. You’ll leave with a personalised action plan.

Explore the range of intersecting LGBTQ+ identities and the real impact of homo-, bi- and transphobia. With clear Equality Act grounding, this session gives any team practical tools to challenge discrimination and build a genuinely LGBTQ-affirmative environment.

2.5 hours
How does allyship move from good intentions to confident, everyday practice? This session starts from listening, not theory: what’s changed legally, the wider intersectional picture, and practical models of allyship, including a breakout working through realistic workplace scenarios.

2.5 hours
How inclusive is your board’s leadership and decision-making, really? Trustees leave with practical allyship skills, unconscious bias awareness and Equality Act grounding, so inclusion becomes part of how your board actually governs, not just what it says.
