Training and facilitation testimonials

‘Brighton and Hove Independent Mediation Service have benefited hugely from the training provided by Chris Brown. Chris has given two 1-day workshops for our volunteer mediators with the morning focusing on mental health awareness and the afternoon on suicide prevention.

Many of the clients we support are experiencing difficulties with their mental health. Chris’s training empowered mediators to gain vital new information and understanding about these issues. The training was beautifully structured and delivered so that all participants felt safe to explore sensitive issues in depth. I think it is the only training I have been involved with where all participants reported feeling increased confidence and ability around such a complex issue.

Since the training, we have been putting our new found skills into practice and have had very positive feedback from clients about the support we have provided. One example is:

“Thank you both for taking the time to listen to me yesterday. It made me feel much better instead of letting it all build up inside my head.”

Both mediators working on this case felt that the skills and confidence gained through Chris’s training enabled them to provide a safe and supported safe to a client with complex needs.’ – Kathy Whitestone, Casework and Training Manager, Brighton & Hove Independent Mediation Service
